Joe Joyce returns to action this weekend as he looks to prove that he still belongs at the top level of the heavyweight division.
The former WBO interim champion endured a difficult 2023 as he was stopped twice by Zhilei Zhang, but he’s hoping that this year can be kinder to him with a number of big wins.
One name that appeals to Joyce is a showdown with Deontay Wilder, and he’s ready to test himself against the former WBC champion.
Wilder lost to Joseph Parker last year, a man who Joyce defeated in 2022, and the 2016 Olympic finalist is interested in taking on the American.
“I like the Deontay Wilder fight considering the story, with me beating Parker and Parker beating him, it's got a good story,” said Joyce when speaking to OLBG.
“All the top names have been discussed as fighting likely for me, I'm a big name and people know about me. My team has talked about Wilder and different fighters too. Wilder’s on the shortlist.”
