John Gotti III’s rivalry with Floyd Mayweather is showing no sign of slowing down after the fighter recently appeared on The MMA Hour.
Earlier this month, chaotic scenes broke out in their bout when the contest was stopped early due to numerous discrepancies from Gotti III, but the novice professional continued to attack Mayweather which promoted a wild brawl in the ring.
Mayweather’s run on the exhibition circuit has largely been routine, but it appears that the Las Vegas native now his first serious rival since Conor McGregor six years ago.
Speculation regarding a rematch continues to grow and if that can be arranged then Gotti III will enter that meeting in confident fashion going by his interview with Ariel Helwani.
“I was touching him a little bit. I was getting closer to him,” said Gotti III when speaking on The MMA Hour.
“In the sixth round, we clinched, and I kissed Floyd on the cheek and told him, ‘That’s it. You have nothing left. You shot your wad early in the fight.’ I was comfortable.
“I felt his power diminish, his speed was gone, I started letting my hands go and I was catching him, and conveniently they call the fight off. I’ve never seen that in all the years I’ve been watching boxing.”
