Former unified super lightweight champion Jose Ramirez has dismissed 'ducking' claims from WBC champion Regis Prograis.
After failing to become the undisputed 140lb champion against Josh Taylor in May 2021, Ramirez has been rebuilding his career and is back in action on Saturday when he faces Richard Commey.
For Ramirez, becoming a two-time world champion is the goal and there was an opportunity to achieve this when a fight with Prograis was on the table. However, this contest failed to materialize and now Prograis has accused Ramirez of not wanting the fight.
During an interview on The DAZN Boxing Show, Ramirez was given the chance to respond to these claims.
"That’s not true," Ramirez stated.
"I haven’t ducked anyone in my whole career.
"My resume says everything, people know me, my team, my coaches, my sparring partners, anybody who has stepped into the ring with me they know I bring it. I work hard, I fear no man.
"I’m a warrior from God, I fear no man."
