Kell Brook will stop Amir Khan on Saturday night. That’s the verdict of Josh Taylor, who believes that Khan’s inability to fight at multiple paces will be his undoing. Taylor, the undisputed world champion at 140lbs, faces Jack Catterall at the end of February, but that’s not stopped the dominant Scot from offering his verdict on a fight that takes place the week before his.
Khan and Brook will finally settle their long rivalry when they meet in Manchester. With both enjoying solid careers, their paths have been close to crossing on several occasions, but an official meeting was never finalised. Taylor is excited for the contest, and he believes the man from Sheffield will have too much for his domestic rival.
“I think with Khan, he is fast, he is rapid, but everything is at the same speed,” said Taylor when speaking to Sky Sports. “He doesn’t change up the pace, everything’s always at 100 miles per hour, and he throws lots of punches. Kell could possibly get accustomed to the speed and time him over five, six, seven rounds.”
“Early doors, it will be Khan, maybe with a little bit of speed and stuff, but I do think Kell will get used to it and time him and hit him with a good shot. I think Brook by knockout I’m going to say, rounds six to eight I would say.”
