Josh Warringon acknowledges he could have considered a switch to super-featherweight earlier, but insists he is here to further his legacy against Anthony Cacace.
The Leeds Warrior returns to the ring on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois, live on DAZN , after back-to-back losses against Luis Alberto Lopez and Leigh Wood.
Warrington will step up a division to face Cacace for his IBO super-feathweight title, but not the IBF belt the latter won against Joe Cordina after the body refused to allow it.
Having been a two-time world champion at featherweight, Warrington admits there have been tough changes in swapping divisions, but says he has plenty still to deliver.
"It's a hell of a difference," he said at the public workout. "Maybe I should have done [it] a few years ago, but it's all hindsight. I wouldn't do it [if I didn't think I could be successful].
"I wouldn't do it. I'm not just here to take part. It's not so much for the belts. It's for the name and the legacy. The last fight was a loss. No matter how well I boxed, it was a loss.
"I don't want to end it like that, and I still want to go to America. After that, I don't know. Once I start dipping, then I'll walk away."
On not fighting for the IBF title, Warrington added: "It's disappointing. I understand their policies and regulations and all this stuff.
"For whatever reason, they just wouldn't change the goalposts here."
