The Fight Disciples reacted to the all-British light heavyweight clash on JABS.

It's no secret that the British light heavyweight scene is stacked right now.

But to the frustration of fight fans, some are reluctant to face each other.

However, after a thrilling two-fight epic between Anthony Yarde and Lyndon Arthur, a new British rivalry is set to be ignited.

This past Tuesday saw the announcement of Joshua Buatsi's return to action on May 21st where he will be facing fellow Brit Craig Richards in what has the potential to be an unmissable contest.

Speaking on JABS, Fight Disciple Nick Peet couldn't hold back his excitement when it came to the vast array of British names at 175lbs.

"That’s not going to be the end of it either, we’ve banging the drum on this show about the state of the domestic light heavyweight division," Peet said.

"They can’t all fight Canelo, but as Canelo himself said, ‘stop forming an orderly queue to face me and fight one another, and fight to the front of the queue.’

"Domestically right now, there’s an opportunity there, Richards vs. Buatsi is a fantastic fight, just like Arthur vs. Yarde was fantastic matchup.

"Callum Smith, Calum Johnson, Rocky Fielding, Dan Azeez, get all those guys in the mix, there’s a shootout there to face Canelo."

Peet also believes this could what Buatsi needs in order to revive what has been a mixed career since turning professional in 2017.

"I am absolutely delighted for Joshua Buatsi because I went from being his biggest fan after the Olympic games to kind of losing interest in his career.

"He failed to capitalise on that British title win and he’s won nonsense belts ever since.

"This is a real fight for me, he’s comeback to domestic level, Craig Richards is absolutely no joke, it’s a fantastic fight and I cannot wait for it."
