There's no love lost between Andrew Moloney and Joshua Franco.
The controversy in their last fight only increases that feeling. In November, Moloney thought his pointed jabs caused a cut under Franco's right eye but it was ruled an accidental headbutt and the bout ended in a No Contest.
That unfinished business became the springboard for Moloney to once again challenge for Franco's WBA super flyweight world title that he used to don. It all goes down Saturday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
"[The second fight] was only two rounds. Two rounds don’t really show much," Franco said at the press conference earlier in the week. "To me, the fight was going the same way as the first fight, but that’s why we’re making the third fight, to take care of business. I’m ready for that."
Added Moloney: "I know Franco is going to be more determined this time around after the criticism he’s copped since that last fight and the whole world knowing that I should be the champ right now. But I’m coming even more determined with more to prove, and as I said, I’m doing this for my family and this is going to be a great night and I’m going to come out with that belt like I should’ve."
The co-main event will have the pro debut of middleweight Nico Ali Walsh, the grandson of Muhammad Ali, taking on Jordan Weeks in a four-round matchup.
