Joshua vs. Fury: Tyson Fury says Anthony Joshua fight is official for August 14DAZN
Are we finally at the finish line?

It's been a long road to make the undisputed heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. There have been days where it appears the fight is dead in the water, and then optimism it is on. If one party is to be believed, we are in the endzone.

On Sunday, Fury, the WBC champion, took to social media to say he just had a conversation with Prince Khalid of Saudi Arabia and was told the fight is on for August 14 in the Middle Eastern country.

"I just got off the phone with Prince Khalid of Saudi Arabia, and he just told me this fight is 100% on," Fury said. "August 14, 2021, summertime. I cannot wait to smash Anthony Joshua on the biggest stage of all times."

It isn't the first time Joshua will have fought in Saudi Arabia.

After losing his heavyweight belts to Andy Ruiz Jr. in a historic upset in June 2019, Joshua and Ruiz had a rematch in December 2019. Joshua won a lopsided decision to leave Saudi Arabia with the titles he'd lost six months earlier.

Joshua (24-1, 22 KOs) last fought in December when he notched a ninth-round knockout over mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev to retain the IBF, WBA (super), and WBO heavyweight titles.

Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) hasn't competed since February 2020, stopping Deontay Wilder in the seventh round to capture the WBC strap.
