WBC flyweight champion Julio Cesar Martinez wants to become the first Mexican to knock out Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez in their fight on March 5th.
The pair will fight at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego after Juan Franciso Estrada pulled out of a trilogy rematch with Chocolatito after testing positive for COVID-19.
Martinez’s decision to step up to 115lbs has made one of the most anticipated fights of the year so far, and the Mexican is comfortable with his decision to move up a weight class.
“I`m feel very strong going up in weight. I`m fifty-six kilos and will slim to fifty-four during the week. I have the hunger, I`m ready for anything and I`ll go on the attack. I will face a tough and a great fighter who I greatly respect. But I`m very ambitious to become the first Mexican fighter to KO Chocolatito," Martinez said, reported BoxingScene.com.
Despite facing one of the most feared fighters in the division, Martinez was clearly confident, saying: “I'll bring everything except fear,” to their bout next month.
