Women’s boxing is set for a memorable 2022. On April 30, Katie Taylor participates in the biggest fight of her illustrious career as she defends her world titles against Amanda Serrano, exclusively live on DAZN.
The darling of Irish boxing places her unbeaten record on the line at New York’s Madison Square Garden and it’s a fight that has captured the public’s imagination.
As well as preparing for her imminent date with destiny, Taylor is also looking forward to the eagerly anticipated grudge match between Savannah Marshall and Claressa Shields.
The amateur rivals are set to clash in the summer, and like everyone else, Taylor is excited to see the action unfold between the explosive pair.
“That’s a huge mega fight,” said Taylor, as she took a break from her gruelling training camp to speak to DAZN.
“Savannah is a genuine knockout power puncher. She’s a huge, huge puncher. And then there’s Claressa, she has all the skill in the world. It’s a very interesting fight and it’s the kind of fight that gets me very excited.”
