Irish boxing superstar Katie Taylor has been a pioneer for women's boxing across the world.

After a stellar amateur career which saw her win an Olympic gold at London 2012, she has gone onto to become one of the biggest names in the professional ranks and her mega-fight with Amanda Serrano last April was the perfect showcase of the journey women's boxing has been on to become a major player within the sport.

However, a rematch with Serrano doesn't seem imminent which has led to some wondering whether the end of Taylor's career is near, but the judging by the enthusiasm showed in an interview with The DAZN Boxing Show ahead of her fight with Karen Elizabeth Carbajal on October 29 live on DAZN (except Australia and New Zealand), the undisputed women's lightweight champion doesn't intend to hang up the gloves anytime soon.

"I obviously know I can’t do this forever; I don’t know if I want to take punches for the rest of my life," Taylor said.

"But I absolutely love my sport, I love training, I’m not sick of the early mornings and I’m not sick of the cold morning, the running sessions, the sparring sessions, I genuinely do love my sport."

One name that has often been linked with Taylor is MMA legend Cris Cyborg, who made her professional boxing debut last month. If Cyborg and Taylor were to meet, it would be a huge crossover fight and it is definitely something that the Republic of Ireland fighter is interested in if the fans demand it.

"I think she had a fight a few weeks ago, she was getting a bit of boxing experience under her belt, I guess," Taylor told DAZN's Ak and Barak.

"She is an MMA legend, she’s a lot bigger and heavier than me as well so that makes for an interesting fight.

"I would be willing to step into the ring with her if that’s the fight people are interested in so that could be possibility."
