Taylor vs. Serrano prediction

It's very rare that the number one and number two fighters in the sport go head-to-head, but Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano are leading the way with their fight on Saturday night.

Both women are at the peak of their powers, and that's what makes this fight so intriguing.

Fans, analysts and fighters are struggling to make their pick and rightly so.

Taylor has superior technical skills. The defending champion has an extensive and successful amateur background which includes an Olympic gold from London 2012, and when she turned professional with Matchroom in November 2016, it was clear she would become a world champion. Since that first pro fight against Karina Szmalenberg, Taylor has tightended her grip on women's boxing, but April 30 will be her toughest test.

Serrano is someone who may not have the amateur background that Taylor possesses, but she is someone who has made a name for herself nonetheless. The Puerto Rican's power has become her strongest asset and played a huge part in winning world titles in seven different weight classes, and this will be the difference on Saturday night.

Taylor in her past few fights hasn't looked the most impressive. Her footwork is something to be admired and if she can dance around Serrano, there's a strong chance of a Taylor win. However, if she puts one foot wrong she is likely to get caught by powerful shot from Serrano who will unload once an opening reveals itself and will prove too much for Taylor.
