Kenichi Ogawa and Joe Cordina both successfully weighed in ahead of their IBF super-featherweight title clash this Saturday night in Cardiff.
The fight, which can be seen exclusively on DAZN, will see the Welshman fight for his maiden world belt as he aims to dethrone the relentless Japanese boxer who became world champion last year by beating Azinga Fuzile.
Both fighters looked in excellent shape as they hit the scales with Cordina on first weighing 129lbs. The champion soon followed, and he was also within the 130lbs limit as he matched Cordina’s weight.
A brief stare down was next before the combatants demonstrated their sporting side by shaking hands and wishing each other well.
Ogawa vs. Cordina headlines at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff as the immediate future of the super-featherweight division takes shape.
Providing chief support is an intriguing battle between Faroukh Kourbanov and Zelfa Barrett for the European title at 130lbs. The winner of that bout will be a keen spectator of the main event.
