KSI exclusive! KSI explains lengthy absence as he plots a massive 2025

KSI exclusive! KSI explains lengthy absence as he plots a massive 2025Wasserman

KSI exited 2023 as a fighter with a bitter taste in his mouth after cruelly falling short in a high-profile contest against Tommy Fury

The enigmatic Londoner was not given much hope against the younger brother of Tyson Fury, but he dismissed the pre-fight expectations from many as he performed admirably against the odds.

At the end of an absorbing contest, many believed that KSI had done more than enough to have his hand raised, but there was shock within the congested Manchester Arena as Fury was given the nod by the judges.

The result produced a sour finale for the year as KSI had been impressive in previous fights against FaZe Temperrr and Joe Fournier. A win over Fury was intended to be the platform for greater conquests.

Instead, 2024 has been a year of relaxation and reflection for KSI, and the key item noticed by his many supporters is his inactivity.

The crossover fight world has rolled on without KSI’s involvement due to several fascinating encounters keeping that area of the sport ticking along. However, the 31-year-old has now revealed that an absence from the sport was required.

"Ultimately, after that fight, I just wanted to take a break in general,” said KSI during an exclusive chat with DAZN News

“I’d been non-stop with boxing, and it definitely takes a toll on you. The camps I do are very intense and I always wanted this year to be like a break year.

“There was a little bit of frustration with boxing. Obviously, knowing that I lost due to the judges, I felt like I won, and to this day I felt like I won. It was definitely an annoying, frustrating thing, but I've learnt from my mistakes, and I know what I need to improve on.”

Despite spending a decent chunk of 2024 focusing on himself and those closest to him, KSI’s reach has been evident in recent weeks.

On November 28, live on DAZN Pay-Per-View, Slim and Gib will settle a lengthy rivalry when they headline a huge Misfits show in Qatar.

KSI has been front and centre promoting the events, and once the curtain closes on that event, attention will immediately switch to Manchester in January when Misfits will take over the brand-new Co-op Live arena.

KSI plotting to be everywhere in 2025

There, Fury, KSI’s old rival, will headline in a huge main event, also live on DAZN Pay-Per-View, when he goes in with former UFC superstar, Darren Till. The pair have already generated huge interest in that bout following a bad-tempered press conference in London

As well as placing himself between fighters and multiple launches to hype upcoming battles, KSI is also plotting his own ring return. As well as putting on the gloves again, he has many grand plans for 2025.

“2025 is definitely going to be a year where people will be seeing me all the time," added the popular YouTuber.

“Whether it’s music, whether it’s boxing, whether it’s YouTube, whether it’s a streaming service, I’m going to be everywhere.

“That’s what I wanted. I knew I was going to be having all this going on. I knew having this going on, i just needed a year to relax and focus on the thing close to me. Family, friends, my missus.

“I didn't have no time to play so I made sure that this year was my playtime.”
