Billy Nelson is eager to keep Martin Bakole busy in 2024 but insists that Derek Chisora has no interest in fighting his man.
Last year, Bakole sent an emphatic statement to the heavyweight division when he scored an impressive stoppage over former world title challenger, Carlos Takam, in a one-sided bout.
The result had been intended to provide a platform for Bakole to pursue bigger fights but the next step for the Congolese contender is still unknown.
Another fighter without a date is Chisora, and even though Nelson, the trainer of Bakole, would accept that battle for his fighter, he says Chisora won’t welcome the idea.
“Derek Chisora said fighters don’t get opportunities for fights, blah blah blah,” said Nelson when speaking to Boxing Social.
“Why has he knocked back the fight with Martin Bakole several times? Hello, we’ll fight him no problem.”
