Filip Hrgovic will be an interested spectator when Oleksandr Usyk defends his heavyweight titles this weekend against Daniel Dubois.
The Croatian contender is the mandatory challenger with the IBF and he’s insistent that he’ll be next in line despite the huge shadow of Tyson Fury lurking for the winner.
The boxing world is eager to an undisputed heavyweight champion crowned and that would involve Fury taking on the winner of this Saturday’s battle.
Hrgovic, who stopped Demsey McKean earlier this month, has waited patiently for his title opportunity and he’s confident he gets it following the outcome of Usyk vs. Dubois.
"I should be next, yeah, I'm next in line, IBF is next in line," said Hrgovic when speaking to Talksport. "According to all the rules, I should be next.
“There's no unification fight, they had all the time in the world to make that unification and they didn't want to do that.
“So, you vacate the titles, or you fight your mandatory, that should be the case."
