Leigh Wood looked to be all but finished heading into the third round of Saturday's fight with Michael Conlan.
The Englishman was dropped in the first and nearly sent back to the canvas in the second. Wood gathered his bearings and went to work. Him and Conlan went to slug it out for the next eight rounds. Then in the 11th round, Wood knocked Conlan to the deck. Conlan made it back to his feet and survived the round.
Wood and Conlan were going back and forth in the 12th and final round. Wood got Conlan to the ropes and knocked him out, and sent him packing through the ropes to retain his WBA (regular) featherweight title. Conlan ended up being stretchered out and taken to the hospital.
Thankfully, Conlan is ok and out of the hospital.
The consensus is Wood vs. Conlan is the best fight so far in 2022 with the ending being the best KO. What do you think?
