Paro is a world champion.

Liam Paro caused something of a shock last month when he travelled to Puerto Rico and became world champion with a brilliant performance against Subriel Matias.

Under hostile conditions, Paro produced the performance of his career to outpoint the division’s dangerman.

Now the owner of a world title, Paro’s profile has received a significant boost and he’s looking to defend his crown in Australia.

140lbs has numerous high-level operators, but Paro insists he’s the best and he’s identified one opponent as his ‘money fight.’

“I’m the man in the division. I took out the guy. I took out the Boogeyman, he most avoided guy,” said Paro when speaking to BoxingScene

“Haney was on my radar, opponent-wise, after I had the belt. You gotta admit – he is the money fight. I’m 100 per cent the guy at 140. I took out the guy that no one wanted, so I’ll stick by that, and anyone disagrees, I’ll come and prove it.”
