Liam Smith didn’t display any sense of nervousness ahead of this weekend’s domestic grudge match with Chris Eubank Jr at the fight’s public workout.
The last few days before battle are important to a fighter, but ‘Beefy’ looked at ease as he engaged in a game of head tennis with former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher.
The European Cup winner, a friend of the fighting Smith family, was on hand to lend support to Smith. Once a world champion at 154lbs, Smith has shared his desire for football on numerous occasions and has even lined up for his local amateur side on a Sunday morning following a gruelling contest.
This coming Saturday gives Smith the opportunity to put himself in the shop window for a future world title shot at 160lbs, and although he was all smiles with Carragher, it’s safe to say he will mean business once the bell sounds.
Eubank Jr was also in attendance but there were no football skills from him as he also looks for further opportunities at middleweight.
