Who won Smith vs. Eubank Jr. 1?
In the build-up to the first fight between Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr., many were billing it as a make or break fight for both men.
Whoever emerged victorious was likely to push on towards a world title shot, while the loser would struggle to face the big names in future fights.
Eubank looked to gain control of the fight early on by establishing his jab against Smith. Eubank's confidence appeared to grow as the fight progressed and a clear sign of this was the addition of the uppercut to his jab in the third round.
However, the tables were turned in the fourth when a Smith right hand rocked Eubank who then found himself on the wrong end of a barrage from the Liverpudlian.
Smith's punches were clearly taking their toll on Eubank who found himself on the canvas following a left uppercut.
While Eubank managed to get back on his feet, there were no signs of him getting back into fight which forced the referee to stop the contest after another Smith onslaught.
Following the fight, it did not take long for Eubank to activate the rematch clause, but with his claims that Smith used an illegal elbow to win the fight, there is a huge amount of pressure on his shoulders as he looks to prove that he can still challenge those at the top table.
