Lovemore Ndou fought many great names.

Lovemore Ndou walked away from boxing in 2012 following a successful career that saw him face some of boxing’s biggest names as well as being a world champion.

Leaving the sport with a win over Gary St Clair, Ndou retired with a proud reputation as a durable fighter who was never stopped despite facing numerous serious punchers.

After sharing the ring with the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Miguel Cotto, and Kell Brook, the South African fighter is fully aware of what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Ndou was renowned for taking elite fighters the distance but who was the hardest puncher he ever faced?

“Jose Luis Juarez. He is the first boxer to ever drop me fairly,” said Ndou when speaking to The Ring regarding his career.

“I recall getting up and referee Marty Denkin was on the seven count. It was towards the end of Round 9, and when I got up, I held onto him.”
