His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has identified a major fight for Anthony Joshua following the shocking retirement of Tyson Fury earlier this week

Fury released a video stating that he was done with boxing meaning that a possible showdown with Joshua is currently off the table.

Joshua is likely to have plenty of options despite Fury’s absence and one of those fights could be a huge showdown with Deontay Wilder.

Joshua and Wilder have been rivals for the best part of a decade with both fighters holding versions of the world title at various stages of the last ten years.

As it stands, both fighters are looking to rebuild following big knockout losses in 2024 with Joshua going down to Daniel Dubois and Wilder being halted by Zhilei Zhang

Wilder could return to action in April, but it is not yet clear when Joshua will make his comeback.

Alalshikh was recently interviewed regarding the next move of Joshua, and he confirmed that Wilder is a fight he would like to see for the British superstar.

I want to see [Anthony] Joshua and [Deontay] Wilder now.” said Alalshikh when speaking to talkSPORT earlier this week.

“We finished the deal with [Martin] Bakole against the Nigerian fighter. [Efe] Ajagba. We finished that as they must do it because this is mandatory for the IBF.”

“Then after that, we are open to seeing Joshua also against Bakole. I want to see this fight right, I want to see it but you know where I want to see it. I want to see it in Africa. Why not Joshua and Wilder?”
