One fighter wants to fight at the club he supports.

Fabio Wardley produced one of the most stunning results of 2024 last weekend when he destroyed his domestic rival, Frazer Clarke, in one round.

The performance ensured Wardley sent a stark warning to the heavyweight division, and it looks like 2025 could be a major year for the Ipswich star.

Since the stoppage, Wardley has been linked to several high-profile fights with Jarrell Miller, Jared Anderson, and Deontay Wilder all mentioned as potential foes

With the heavyweight division about to undergo serious change with multiple stars on the verge of breaking through to world level, Wardley has demonstrated that he’s a fighter who should be feared.

With huge fights likely to be on the horizon, Wardley’s ambition to fight at Portman Road, the home of Ipswich Town, looks to be getting closer.

"It’s still the dream and it’s on the cards," said Wardley when speaking to BBC Radio Suffolk

"If anything, it’s closer than ever now because being with Frank Warren my promoter, he’s done stadium shows before and he knows how to put them on.

"When it happens is still a massive question, but pieces are definitely falling into place for this."
