Former IBF and WBO women's super featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer has expressed her desire to face IBF women's welterweight champion Natasha Jonas following her win over Silvia Bortot on Saturday night.
Since losing her 130lb titles to Alycia Baumgardner last year, Mayer has bounced back with two back-to-back wins and now feels that she is ready to challenge for a world title once more.
One possible route is facing Jonas and Mayer had a message for the British star who was ringside after beating Bortot on the judges' scorecards.
"I don't want easy fights, I've got some big fights ahead of me, one of them is sitting right there!" Mayer said.
"I'm ready for that fight, I'm preparing my body for that fight, it's a big jump going from 130lbs to 147lbs. I'm prepared to go to 147lbs and take on Tasha Jonas straight away.
"That's the one I want next! And she sounds like she's game."
