Mike Tyson warmed up for his imminent showdown with Jake Paul by partaking in a light-hearted tussle with Shannon Briggs.
The two former heavyweight champions were filmed going at it in Netflix’s recent preview show for Tyson against Paul as they gave viewers a brief taste of what might've occurred if they fought at their respective peaks.
On November 15, Tyson will return to the ring for the first time in almost 20 years for a professional contest when he goes in with the popular YouTuber.
Tyson will be conceding a lot of age to Paul as he approaches his 60th birthday, but he’ll be hoping his experience and power will give him an edge when the bell eventually sounds.
At his best, Tyson was of boxing’s most menacing fighters as he ripped through a number of high-profile names in the 1980s on his way to becoming heavyweight champion.
The following decade, Tyson also reigned as ruler in the division, but his time on top was also split amongst the likes of Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, and Briggs.
A contest between the entertaining New Yorkers never materialised, but both Tyson and Briggs were in good spirits for the Netflix series as they encountered each other in Brooklyn, the place where both men grew up.
After visiting his old neighborhood, Tyson was greeted by locals and that included a chance meeting with Briggs.
The pair playfully squared up before wrestling with each other, but the mood remained a jovial one as they exchanged pleasantries after their brief altercation.
Tyson is set to be in a more serious mood when his fight with Paul eventually gets underway later this month in Texas.
