Kevin McBride knows what it takes to get into the ring with Mike Tyson after defeating the legendary New Yorker in 2005.
McBride caused a huge shock almost 20 years ago when he beat Tyson, but he believes his former opponent would be too good for Anthony Joshua in a fantasy fight.
Early in Joshua’s career, the British star was compared to Tyson as he blitzed his way through numerous opponents on his way to becoming world champion.
Despite his qualities, McBride is adamant that Tyson would come out on top against the 2012 Olympic gold medalist.
“AJ is a powerful puncher and has the size, he would have had a puncher's chance against Tyson,” said McBride when speaking to Instant Casinos.
“But the way Tyson hit, he was the most powerful man in the world in the way he hit. I wouldn't write AJ off, I've never felt AJ's power, but I'd choose Tyson in his heyday over AJ.”
