'Nothing else to do!' - Moses Itauma lays out path to professional boxing ahead of Demsey McKean clash

'Nothing else to do!' - Moses Itauma lays out path to professional boxing ahead of Demsey McKean clashMark Robinson / Matchroom Boxing
The rising British star is unbeaten in his career so far, but has laid out the curious reasons for a professional career inside the ring.

Moses Itauma claims he took up professional boxing because he has "nothing else to do" as he prepares to meet in a major clash with Demsey McKean this December, live on DAZN.

The British-Slovakian fighter returns to Saudi Arabia once more on Riyadh Season's Reignited undercard, fighting before Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury's rematch.

It is the latest professional bout for the teenager at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, and will be his 11th fight inside two years since turning professional in January 2023.

Now, before he heads back to the Middle East once again, Itauma has suggested his decision to pursue a professional career was more of an ad-hoc decision than anything else.

As for what he has taken away from his previous bouts, the teenager suggested that he does not necessarily know when he makes obvious improvements.

"I don't actively learn something," he added. "I just naturally pick it up as second nature. What have I learned [beyond that]? I guess to be more patient."

Itauma holds a 10-0 record so far in his career, and will be looking to extend his unbeaten record when he comes up against the experienced McKean.

The Australian holds a 22-1 record of his own, but has not fought since a first career loss in August 2023 when he was defeated by Filip Hrgovic.
