Naoya Inoue retains IBF and WBA bantamweight titles after stopping Aran DipaenDAZN
The fighter known as ' The Monster' put on a show in Japan.

Naoya Inoue (22-0, 19 KOs) made his long-awaited homecoming fight one to remember after stopping Thailand's Aran Dipaen to retain his IBF and WBA bantamweight titles.

Inoue, who is ranked number four in DAZN's pound-for-pound rankings , floored his opponent in the middle of round eight before a follow-up left hook forced referee Michiaki Someya to stop the fight.

This contest was Inoue's first in Japan since a thrilling 12-round encounter with Nonito Donaire in November 2019, and now this stoppage win against Diapen could open the door to a rematch with the current WBC 118lb champion.
