The WBO super welterweight champion is aiming to add to her collection this year.

WBO super welterweight champion Natasha Jonas is hoping for a unification fight with Hannah Rankin.

The 37-year-old veteran won the vacant belt when she stopped Christian Namus in February in Manchester, making it her first successful title win after three attempts, and she now hopes to build on that success.

Rankin holds the WBA and IBO championships in the division, winning both belts back in November 2021. On May 13 she fights Alejandra Ayala in Glasgow.

If she successfully defends her straps then Jonas is hoping to be next in line.

"I don't think there's any secret," Jonas said to Sky Sports. "Hannah Rankin and myself have both said that a unification fight - if she comes through her fight in May - is something that we both want, something that we both believe we can win, and it makes sense because it's a good unification fight."

Promoter Ben Shalom is also keen.

"I've been speaking to Dennis Hobson (Rankin's promoter) about it, he wants her to take that big fight in Scotland for her, a nice homecoming, and then there'll be a unification, 100 per cent," he confirmed.

"That's what Tasha wants and that's what Hannah wants and that's a big fight. That could be next for her."
