'Something no-one can take away!' - Natasha Jonas targets Lauren Price unbeaten record

Natasha Jonas has warned Lauren Price that she will end her unbeaten record, stating that such success would be "something no-one can take away" if she defeats her.

The pair will meet this March in a welterweight unification bout which puts the former's IBF and WBC titles on the line against her younger foe's WBA strap.

Both women enter the fight at diametric opposites of their career, with Jonas having toyed with retirement in 2024 and Price building a professional reputation after Olympic gold.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday though, the former warned the Tokyo 2020 middleweight champ that the pressure is firmly on her to defend her undefeated status.

"The pressure is not on me," she said. "Lauren's the champion whose never lost a round, the Olympic gold medallist.

There's a lot of pressure on her to come and do what she says she can do. The underdog suits me. I've been here before."

"I love being the first and the first is something no one can take away. I've been here before, and you've got to be careful what you wish for."

Price countered that she expects to return home with all three belts instead however, replying: "I've always had pressure on me.

"Going to the Olympics, expected to win gold, but going to do that and walking out to an Olympic final, it doesn't get much bigger than that.

"With pressure comes diamonds and I will be coming out on March 7 as the winner and taking them belts back to Wales."
