Nigel Benn names the legendary fighter he thinks he would've 'kept down'DAZN
Nigel Benn was a big puncher.

Nigel Benn enjoyed a stellar career as he played his part in thrilling battles against the likes of Chris Eubank and Gerald McClellan.

A two-weight world champion, Benn was an essential part of British boxing’s golden era in the 1990s and he now has the pleasure of watching his son rise up the welterweight rankings.

Despite ticking a number of big boxes during his runs at middleweight and the division above, Benn still looks at the sport since he retired, and he’s identified one fighter he would have loved to have taken on.

Carl Froch hit similar heights as Benn during his spell as world ruler at 168lbs, and Benn would've liked to have tested himself against the Nottingham man.

“Carl Froch,” answered Benn when asked what fighter he’d like to face from the eras that came after him by Through the Ropes.

“If George Groves could put him down, I would have kept him down but yeah he would have been a person I would have loved to have fought.”
