Oleksandr Usyk manager brutally puts down Tyson Fury with 'Netflix star' claim

Are we any closer to seeing Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk?

Oleksandr Usyk’s manager isn't hopeful when it comes to his man getting a fight with Tyson Fury next, and he’s accused the WBC champion of being more interested in being a ‘Netflix star.’

Sergey Lapin is eager to for his man to step into the ring with Fury so boxing can have an undisputed heavyweight champion but it’s clear he has doubts about the contest happening.

Usyk retained his heavyweight belts this past weekend with a ninth-round stoppage over Daniel Dubois.

A low blow from the Brit has become the fight’s biggest talking point with Dubois’ team insisting it was clean.

Usyk’s camp are eager to move on and secure bigger fights but there doesn’t seem to be much hope that the next challenge for the unbeaten Ukrainian will be Fury.

“Dubois lacks the mentality to become a champion,” said Lapin when speaking to Casino Alpha.

“Quitting and then complaining after the fight are examples of this, but at least he signed to fight - unlike Tyson Fury who is more concerned about being a Netflix star than defending his WBC belt.

“Usyk is the best of this generation and is willing to prove it. Talks are open again about fighting in Saudi in January, but when Fury is involved - don't bet your life savings on it happening.”
