2022 could see an undisputed heavyweight champion emerge.

Oleksandr Usyk would be ready to fight Tyson Fury in an undisputed clash if Anthony Joshua steps aside, says his promoter Alexander Krassyuk.

Joshua immediately activated his rematch clause with the Ukrainian following his defeat and has been touring gyms in Texas and California to examine potential changes in his training team.

Promoter Eddie Hearn had expected a second fight to go ahead by April 2022, but Joshua recently suggested it may make business sense to step aside if the money on offer was sufficient.

Fury’s co-promoter Bob Arum recently said he hoped the WBC champion would fight three times next year, including against his potential mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Krassyuk gave an update on the chance of a Fury-Usyk clash.

"The talks on AJ's step aside have been around since Fury KO'd Wilder,” he began.

"I heard that Joshua could consider stepping aside if the money is right as he feels respect to the division and is willing to let the undisputed heavyweight championship happen.

"Usyk says that he can fight Fury next if the offer is right and if AJ allows to do so."
