Oleksandr Usyk remains the current number one pound-for-pound fighter following Anthony Joshua win

Oleksandr Usyk remains the current number one pound-for-pound fighter following Anthony Joshua winDAZN

Oleksandr Usyk has reinforced his place at the top of DAZN's pound-for-pound list following his split decision win over Anthony Joshua on Saturday night

Usyk fought a much improved Joshua in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and looked shaky in the ninth round when the British challenger looked in the ascendancy. However, the Ukrainian came out revitalized for the final three rounds, frustrating Joshua, and almost got the stoppage himself in round 10.

With just Tyson Fury's WBC world heavyweight title needed to become the undisputed champion in boxing's glamour division, any little doubt from fans and experts will instantly vanish about Usyk being the number one P4P fighter if he can topple Fury.

After dominating the cruiserweight division and becoming undisputed champion, Usyk decided to move to heavyweight in 2019. Just three fights later, he landed a world title shot against the then-IBF, WBA, and WBO world heavyweight champion Joshua. A dominant performance followed at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last September, which saw Usyk triumph on points, and it was a similar outcome in last week's rematch.

There will be some arguments about whether Terence Crawford, who is number two, should be a candidate for the top spot in DAZN's Top 10 P4P list after enjoying world title reigns in numerous weight classes, and this could change if a fight with Errol Spence Jr. for the undisputed welterweight title can be made for later this year.

But right now, after going 20 fights unbeaten and achieving world title success in two of boxing's biggest weight divisions, Oleksandr Usyk rightfully sits at the top of DAZN's Top 10 P4P list
