Undisputed boxing heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk will appear in Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's new movie.
The film, ‘The Smashing Machine’ is based on the life of Mark Kerr and will star Johnson as the lead role. Usyk will play MMA legend Igor Vovchanchyn. This will be Usyk's first time acting in a movie and was announced just days after he defeated Tyson Fury.
Vovchanchyn is Ukrainian, just like Usyk, and fought for PRIDE for much of his MMA career. He had an incredible 68 fights in MMA, losing just 10 of them. He fought Kerr twice, first in 1999 when he defeated Kerr via TKO at PRIDE 7, the win was later overturned to a no contest after his knees to Kerr were deemed illegal. They fought again in December 2000 where he defeated Kerr via decision.
No release date for the film has been revealed yet.
