Could the Ukrainian be looking to take up a different combat sports discipline?

Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk could be looking to pursue a career in bare knuckle fighting according to his trainer Sergey Lapin.

Usyk is arguably the world's best pound-for-pound fighter after beating Tyson Fury in May to become the undisputed champion at heavyweight.

However, this reign was short lived after Usyk was forced to vacate his IBF title which will now be contested between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, whose IBF interim status was upgraded, on September 21 at Wembley Stadium live on DAZN

Usyk is scheduled to face Fury in a rematch later this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and if he gets a second win over the British star, could a debut in bare knuckle fighting be on the cards?

In a post on Instagram, Lapin sent a message to Conor McGregor, who has a stake in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, and teased a possible partnership involving Usyk.
