Oleksandr Usyk or Tyson Fury - Who will make the better start? Countdown Day 13

13 days remain until Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk meet for a second time.

Usyk was victorious back in May, but can he repeat the result on December 21, live on DAZN

After 12 tough rounds earlier this year, round 13 will start later this month and both men will want to make an early impact.

Here, as part of the big fight countdown, DAZN News looks at how both men could start the fight in the thirteenth round.

When Tyson Fury analyses his first meeting with Oleksandr Usyk, a fight the Ukrainian won via split decision thanks to a brilliant second half, he will be satisfied with certain parts of it.

Fury’s quick start in their first meeting may have cost him and there is no doubt that Usyk has the far superior conditioning and stamina to help him in the latter stages.

Fury built up a healthy lead last time, but did he expand too much energy in doing so, meaning that he would ultimately slow down as the fight dragged on.

As well as expanding energy from a tactical standpoint, Fury spent some time showboating, and that could be one area he could eradicate this time around if he wants to preserve himself for the championship rounds.

One alarming absence from Fury’s arsenal in their maiden encounter was his reluctance to use his size, which many believed would be a huge factor.

Fury stayed on the outside for the majority of the fight as Usyk was the aggressor, but in the sparse moments that Fury did get close, he was able to push Usyk back and produce some decent inside work.

Even when hurt in round nine, Fury was unable to get close to his opponent and hold on as Usyk slipped very easily and continued to punish his rival.

This time around, Fury has to take the fight to Usyk and land more hurtful shots than last time in the hope that he can slow him down.

Fury may risk getting caught on the way in, but he must make a dent in the initial stages of this fight, or it could become difficult down the stretch again.

For Usyk, the game plan may well be the same and that means stalking Fury at every opportunity and constantly making him think with feints.

Usyk did take a while to catch up with Fury, but he knows he can badly hurt his opponent, and that is a valuable currency to take into a major world title fight.

Usyk may also be aware that Fury may come on the front foot this time, so he may be happy to let him come onto him and try and counter. It is a tactic he is comfortable with, but it is more likely we see a similar strategy from the first fight.

Opening rounds in fights are very important when it comes to exerting dominance and both these fighters will want to make a big impression early on.

Who will make the better start when the fight gets underway later this month?
