Ryan Garcia could be in line for another blockbuster encounter.

Ryan Garcia has not fought since his April defeat to Gervonta Davis in one of the biggest fights of the year, but is he set for another huge encounter in 2024?

Garcia is expected to compete again before the year is complete but Oscar De La Hoya, the promoter of Garcia, believes a fight with WBO super lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez could occur in the early stages of next year.

Lopez returned to the highest level in boxing this past summer when he produced a stunning performance to get past the previously unbeaten Josh Taylor.

There had been previous doubts surrounding Lopez’s ability following a number of lacklustre outings, but he now appears to be in the frame to face Garcia.

“There’s a huge weekend, Super Bowl weekend, and I think the only fighter that can headline the event is Ryan Garcia,” said De La Hoya when speaking to Fight Hub TV.

“Ryan and Teo would be a lot of fun,”
