Oscar De La Hoya gives update on Ryan Garcia's mindset ahead of Devin Haney fight

Oscar De La Hoya gives update on Ryan Garcia's mindset ahead of Devin Haney fightGolden Boy / Cris Esqueda
Ryan Garcia is preparing for the biggest fight of his career so far.

It is not long now until WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney takes on rival Ryan Garcia live on DAZN PPV

Fight week has already been an eventful one ahead of Saturday's main event with Haney and Garcia coming to blows at the top of the Empire State Building which resulted in the pair not engaging in a face-off at Thursday's press conference.

There have been some concerns from fans and boxing experts in the build-up to this contest as a result of the social media posts published by Garcia, but his promoter Oscar De La Hoya told DAZN that his fighter is in the right headspace ahead of his first shot at a world title.

"Social media and reality are two different things. I see Ryan, he’s in great shape, on weight, I see Ryan just focused," De La Hoya said.

"When he trains, he trains, when he posts on social media that’s his time to do whatever he wants to do, I don’t obviously control that.

"But Ryan’s ready, it’s his big opportunity, this is the one that counts, number seven, they are three and three in the amateurs, they know each other very well.

"Ryan’s very confident that he is going to beat Devin Haney."
