Oscar De La Hoya has identified a huge fight for Canelo Alvarez.

Oscar De La Hoya has once again spoken about his desire to make Canelo Alvarez vs. Jaime Munguia in 2024.

The former six weight world champion played a huge part in the development of Canelo on his rise to the top of the boxing world and now he wants to promote his former fighter against one of his current stars.

As it stands, Canelo has no fight date planned but he has been linked to bouts with David Benavidez and Jermall Charlo.

Munguia will fight John Ryder later this month, exclusively live on DAZN, and although that’s expected to be a tough contest for Munguia, De La Hoya is looking ahead and is eager to make an all-Mexican clash.

“Imagine two Mexicans inside the ring at the highest level. We haven’t seen that since Barrera-Morales. We haven’t seen that since Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez,” said De La Hoya when speaking to Fight Hub TV

“I would love to be a part of history. I would love Canelo to be a part of that history and Munguia and give the fight fans an amazing show because you know it’s going to be a war, especially when it’s in that ring right here.”
