The Swedish heavyweight had been due to meet the interim champion earlier this year.
Otto Wallin is one of the world’s best fighters and is hoping to fight Dillian Whyte, his promoter Dimitriy Salita says.

Wallin had been due to fight WBC interim champion Whyte in October, but the Briton pulled out with a shoulder injury and has since moved on to a mandatory WBC challenge against Tyson Fury, expected in early 2022.

However, negotiations between Fury and Whyte appear difficult, and therefore Wallin is waiting to see if he can set up a scrap.

"Otto Wallin has already shown himself to be one of the best heavyweights in the world," Salita said to Sky Sports.

"He was scheduled to fight Dillian Whyte on October 30, and was on his way to the airport when the WBC interim title fight was postponed.

"Now if the fight between Tyson and Whyte cannot be agreed, then the fight to take place is Otto vs Whyte."

Wallin fought and pushed the WBC champion hard in their 2019 clash, but Fury ultimately won out. However, Salita thinks the Swede is now a significantly better fighter.

"Otto is much improved since his very close fight with Tyson Fury," he said.

"He landed more punches than Deontay Wilder and Wladimir Klitschko put together when they first shared the ring with Fury.

"He has become even better, adding two more wins since the Fury fight, and is ready to fight the best."
