Promoter Ben Shalom declared that Callum Simpson is a ‘new star’ in British boxing.
Simpson is the British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion after beating Zak Chelli in Barnsley on Saturday night.
He then set his sights on earning the Lonsdale belt as he focused on defending the British strap, and Boxxer promoter Shalom thinks that he can be a huge attraction in his home country.
"Simpson showed incredible skill and maturity to beat Zak Chelli and take the titles in the manner that he did,” he told Sky Sports .
"He has huge support in Barnsley. I've not seen anything like it. This is going to be the start of something very special for him.
"Next time we go back to Oakwell, I believe he can sell out the whole stadium.
"The connection he has with the club, the fans and the community is amazing to see. He can become British boxing's biggest ticket seller."
