Regis Prograis is already looking to land a fight against WBO super lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez.
Lopez picked up the belt last weekend in New York after an impressive showing against Josh Taylor, and has since claimed that he will retire from the sport - unless the money is good enough to justify a return.
Prograis will hope to defend his WBC strap against Danielito Zorrilla this weekend, live on DAZN, and could be persuaded to pursue unification against other champions in the division.
The American has only one defeat to his name - against Taylor in 2019 - and has delivered four stoppages from four fights since then. A fifth would ensure that a unification fight is on the cards in the near future, if not an immediate certainty.
“I gotta fight Teo,” Prograis told BoxingScene.com. “I gotta fight Teo. Got to, got to for sure. I think that would be a huge fight. Me and Teo have to fight. We got to, we gotta fight.”
