Five reasons to get excited for the best fight card of all time on February 22

Five reasons to get excited for the best fight card of all time on February 22Mark Robinson/Matchroom Boxing

It is very rare that the boxing world is harmonious, but the announcement of what is arguably the best fight card of all time has everyone singing from the same hymn sheet.

Taking place on February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, undisputed light-heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev will face Dmitry Bivol in a hotly anticipated rematch of their first bout.

But that is not the only draw to excite the masses, with the small matter of three world titles and a plethora of household names all set to feature on a stacked seven-fight bill.

DAZN News lists five reasons why fans should be excited for what just could be the best fight card in the history of boxing.

A rematch for the ages

The first fight between Beterbiev and Bivol for the undisputed light-heavyweight title lived up to expectations, in a close encounter that the former edged on the scorecards.

But as with any high-stakes encounter as close as this one was, there were many who believed the latter had done enough to become the ultimate ruler at 175lbs instead.

Now, just four months on from their first tussle, Beterbiev and Bivol will run it back once more to find out who really is the light-heavyweight division's number one fighter.

Dubois and Parker meet in unmissable co-main event

If an undisputed light heavyweight scrap was not just enough, there is a world heavyweight title fight in the co-main event, as Daniel Dubois defends his IBF heavyweight crown.

After dispatching Anthony Joshua with stunning ease in September, the Briton will now face former WBO champion Joseph Parker, who is looking to seal a sensational comeback.

Both have reignited their careers over the past year with standout performances, and the winner here will surely be the next legitimate contender to face Oleksandr Usyk or Tyson Fury.

An all-British light-heavyweight dust-up

It is safe to say the British light-heavyweight division is stacked with several contenders, but it has been something of a difficulty for contenders to line up all their ducks in a row.

Luckily, two big names will meet in Saudi Arabia, with a huge matchup between Joshua Buatsi and Callum Smith likely to dictate who can challenge Beterbiev or Bivol next.

Buatsi has already beaten Craig Richards, Dan Azeez and Willy Hutchinson, while Smith bounced back from a Beterbiev loss in January to win in November versus Carlos Galvan.

The return of Shakur Stevenson

There will be plenty of excitement for WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson in Riyadh when he enters the ring, as the American defends his title against Floyd Schofield.

The former, with his electric personality, could be one of boxing's biggest stars, but at times, it feels like his road to that status has hit obstacles both inside and outside of the ring.

This fight against Schofield on a Riyadh Season card will give him the platform to make a huge statement, and if he does prevail, some huge unfications could be on the horizon.

'Big Bang' Zhang and Kabayel could be a Fight of the Night contender

The beauty of heavyweight boxing is that it could all change with just one punch, and both Zhilei Zhang and Agit Kabayel will surely throw until only one man is left standing.

Both men are not afraid to come forward and trade blows in pursuit of victory, with Kabayel having thrived in Riyadh so far thanks to two impressive knockout wins.

Zhang on the other hand will come into this contest on the back of an emphatic fifth round stoppage win over former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.
