Antonio Tarver is ready to test himself in the ring once more and he’s identified a number of fighters he’d like to face.
The former light-heavyweight champion of the world and star of Rocky Balboa was one of boxing’s best fighters at his peak as he scored a number of impressive wins over the likes of Roy Jones Jr. and Glen Johnson.
Inactive from the sport since bowing out with a draw against Steve Cunningham back in 2015, Tarver has contributed to numerous boxing productions with punditry but he’s now willing to put his gloves back on.
With numerous ex-boxers partaking in exhibition fights such as Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather, Tarver is considering a similar move.
"If I were to do an exhibition fight, it would be against a big MMA giant or a major boxing giant like Mike Tyson or the likes of a Logan Paul or Jake Paul,” said Tarver when speaking with BoxingScene.
“I think it’s suitable for a guy like me. It would be an honour to don the ring with the great legendary ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson who has been one of the biggest names in the sport forever. When you look at what he did together with Roy Jones Jr, it was incredible.”
