Roy Jones Jr. teases exhibition fight with MMA legend in Saudi Arabia

Roy Jones Jr. teases exhibition fight with MMA legend in Saudi ArabiaDAZN
It looks like Roy Jones Jr. is not done with boxing just yet.

Despite losing to former UFC star Anthony Pettis in April, Roy Jones Jr. is not done with his boxing career.

Over recent weeks, the former multi-weight world champion has been linked with an exhibition fight against crossover star Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia, but with talks going quiet, there is an alternative opponent which could be in the frame, MMA legend Anderson Silva.

The Brazilian is no stranger to big fights inside the ring after taking on Jake Paul last year, the contest ended in a unanimous decision win for Paul.

Speaking to Action Network, Jones revealed that there are plans for a legends fight card to take place in Saudi Arabia in the near future and a potential meeting with Silva could feature on it if a clash with Fury fails to materialise.

"I am still being contacted about doing an exhibition with Anderson Silva on a legends card in Saudi Arabia, so if the Tommy Fury fight doesn't happen that's another one in discussion," Jones said.

"The Saudis know how long that fight has been brewing and they still want to make it happen, so let's see."

Jones has only featured in one exhibition fight in his boxing career and that was against former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in November 2020 which ended in a split draw.
