Ryan Garcia returns to the ring this Saturday live across the world on DAZN, but his upcoming fight with Emmanuel Tagoe will be the first since leaving Eddy Reynoso's gym last year.
The lightweight star has now joined Joe Goossen's gym in New York with the aim of having a trainer which can fully focus on his career.
Garcia over the past year or so has been battling with mental health issues following his win over Luke Campbell, but that didn't stop the undisputed world super middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez questioning the 23-year-old's dedication in the gym.
In an exclusive interview with DAZN's Kate Abdo, Garcia immediately dismissed any notion that a friendship with Canelo cannot be restored after recent criticisms.
"It’s never a closed chapter. I have no hard feelings for Canelo," Garcia said.
"I’m a guy who forgives pretty easily, if you say sorry, I’ll even say sorry.
"I’ll squash it right there like it never happened, I’m just that type of person.
"Obviously, I won’t forget, but I won’t have any type of hard heart for somebody. I just can’t do it after a while.
"I just keep moving forward."
