Bob Arum is hugely optimistic that a big fight between Ryan Garcia and Teofimo Lopez can take place in February.
The outstanding pair are two of the biggest names in boxing and a fight between them would likely do huge business as they both look to grab the top spot at 140lbs whilst proving who is the better fighter.
Despite mixed form in recent years, Lopez reminded the world of his incredible skillset when he dominated Josh Taylor earlier this year.
Garcia was beaten by Gervonta Davis in April in one of the year’s biggest fights, but if he defeats Oscar Duarte when he returns on December 2, it appears to be all go for Garcia vs. Lopez in 2024.
“We’re hoping to get that fight done sometime in February,” said Arum when speaking to K.O. Artist Sports.
“In the meantime, Garcia has a fight , but I don’t think there’s going to be that much difficulty a Teofimo-Ryan fight together for the end of February.”
