Former light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev is ready to continue his comeback to fight Jake Paul.
The 39-year-old Russian has fought Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, Bernard Hopkins and Andre Ward over the course of an impressive career, losing in 2019 to the Mexican when he made his first move up to 175lbs.
Canelo will fight another Russian light heavyweight champion, Dmitry Bivol, this May live on DAZN so Kovalev will have to find another opponent once he returns to the ring against Terel Pulev the same month.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, he suggested he could take on Jake Paul, who usually fights around cruiserweight.
"Fight with Jake Paul? I'm ready," he said. "And I will knock him out."
Paul has hinted he could get back into the ring in August, after he has finished promotion duties for the April 30 fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, also shown live on DAZN.
Kovalev would provide his toughest test, though Paul has appeared keen to fight Conor McGregor.
"Let me make my comeback fight," Kovalev continued, "and then we can do any fight. Any day."
