Showtime Sports president Steven Espinoza is confident that a rematch between the undisputed welterweight champion Terence Crawford and Errol Spence will get made.
The two Americans finally went head-to-head for all the marbles in July, and it was Crawford who got the win with a ninth round stoppage.
Despite Crawford producing a dominant performance and knocking Spence down three times during the fight, the latter has still decided to push ahead with the rematch.
There was some hope that a second fight between Crawford and Spence would take place before the end of 2023, but Espinoza now believes it's more likely to happen next year.
"Look, it’s it’s a discussion. There’s no sort of immediate deadlines on it and deadline but look, we got a busy schedule for the rest of the year," Espinoza told K.O. Artist Sports.
"We got a couple more events coming. I don’t think we’re going to end up squeezing it [Crawford vs. Spence rematch] in this year. It’ll probably be next year anyway. So we’ll figure it out."
